can't transfer pics

I really like this camera, but it can't transfer pictures to computer. I've tried with XP drivers and scanner/camera wizard and Kodak drivers and easyshare software. Occasionally it will transfer 1 or 2 pics but generally it stays at 0% or otherwise fails. I've tried using different USB ports, cameras internal memory, other known good SD cards, all the same. I've installed a clean disk image, fully updated XP, no change. Kodak support is slow to respond and useless. Tried the camera on two other computers at work, same failures. I decided it must be faulty hardware and returned it, now on my second M1033, but having the same failures. How can multiple cameras fail on multiple computers and Kodak be clueless about the problem, "make sure the camera is fully charged"?! By comparison, when I plugged my old Canon A410 in, windows scanner/camera wizard installed it and was downloading pictures in under 10 seconds. This sucks, does anyone have any troubleshooting suggestions? Thanks.

Are you using the same USB cable with the camera that you had with the old one? If so, it might be a bad cable. Try a different USB cable if you have one. Or copy the files directly from the SD card with a card reader and see if the computer can read them that way.

Are you talking about the EasyShare software? I have a Kodak camera too and I always get a message about "EasyShare has stopped working" and I can transfer pictures into my Vista computer. So I have to resort to reading the SD card directly to get the pictures off. BTW, that M1033 is a nice camera. I wish I had that one -- I got an earlier model (M883) that doesn't take as nice pictures and doesn't have HD Video recording like your M1033 does.
