yesterday i bic'd (well, mach 3'd) my head for the first time, and now it feels like a warm, leather hat that i can't stop touching. i'm really torn, because i love the feel of it, but i don't necessarily like the look (fortunately i have a pretty nicely shaped skull without any huge blotches, but it still doesn't look that good to me). the funniest thing is when people look at me, because i don't usually notice i'm cue ball but by the stares it's fairly obvious others do. i'll probably grow it out to a week's worth and keep it at that length. but if you've never tried it and always wanted to, i definitely urge giving it a shot. girls love to kiss it :)

Feels good, doesn't it?

I haven't shaved mine in a while, I may have to take that up again.

i shave mine every 3 days. i figure i'm losing out in the long run though. mach 3 blades are cheap on ebay, but i go through about 1 a week.

benifits include: beenies go on smoothly; no fuss in the morning; people think your a freak & don't get near you(easy subway seat).

negatives: occasional dry scalp; sunburn(ouch); the occasional cold shower blast resulting in a deep gash.

Caucasians generally lack the aesthetic appeal of shaved heads, but it helps if you have *some* color; in other words, get some kind of a tan if you're pale.

It really depends on the person; some white guys look great with a shaved head, some look like a science experiment gone wrong.

Tried convincing my wife to be o.k. w/me shaving my head. No go.

She says I should fiercely fight to keep what I have left

True. I meant that we (white guys) generally don't look as good as those with naturally darker skin. I think a lot of black men look a lot better with a shaved head, but that's never the case for a white guy, imo.

I think Howie Mandel is a good example of a white guy that actually looks pretty good bald.

Very true. But some guys can really pull it off. Can you even imagine Kojak or Yul Brynner (spelling) WITH hair?

Perhaps not, but when a guy goes all his life with at least some hair, it's usually quite dramatic when he suddently has no hair.

You and I are in the same boat. She even mentioned getting implants...I laughed and brought up Headblade.com in a browser window. If my hair continues it's slow ascent up my scalp it will be shaved off within the year. I'm part Indian(feather) so at least I want look like a cue ball. I will need to buff up a little more though and maybe get a motorcycle to complete the look
