Welcome to .NET
When I had XP I had to take it out of my systray and load it manually for when I needed to use it. When you load XP and you have a .NET account (diff from passport) XP automatically log's you in to .NET and doesn't tell you and since your are already logged-in, and you have msn in the systray, and since your looged into .NET msn get's logged in automatically. Another thing MS forgot to tell you.
The future of .NET is gona open up a whole new can of woopass.

Here's the future of .NET for example.
1) In the future, software you purchase will require you to have a .NET account, where it will check and see if all of your software has been properly activated. In other words, not pirated.
2) If you buy software that requires a .NET activation, your OS must also be properly activated through .NET first. (not pirated)
3) If your OS is properly activated, you will not be able to install .NET capable software without properly activating it. (pirated software)
4) If you install .NET capable software that has not been 'properly' activated through .NET, it will give you a status of 'NOT LOGGED-IN' or 'ACCOUNT DISABLED' for example.
5) If you log-in to .NET it will check to see if all of your .NET required software is activated and if so you will get a status of 'ACTIVATED' or 'LOGGED-IN'
6) Websites you visit for like news, weather, sports, maybe even anandtech will require an 'ACTIVATED' .NET account, since adds they carry will require .NET activation.
7) .NET activated adds will pay more. and will be supported throughout the software and hardware industry.
8) If your account status is disabled, you will not be given permission to visit certain websites, shopping or online banking ect.
In the very near future, they can give the software away, you can steel it, pirate it, it won't matter. If you don't have a .NET activated account, the Internet will be very small.
Like I said, welcome to .NET
