Can't send email using Outlook after changing from AT&T service to Roadrunner...

I used to use Outlook to access my incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) mail. Since I changed from dialup with AT&T to cable access with Road Runner I have not been able to send email. I changed my AT&T email (POP3) to general access so I can use another ISP to access my email...I went on WURD.com to set all the port connections and for some reason there is a problem with my Outgoing mail (SMTP)...there is a patch to supposedly fix this problem in Outlook, but I tried to install the patch and it will not install. The patch is supposed to fix the outgoing mail error. Someone please help!!! I am running XP Pro and also Office 2002...
