it overclocks fine to 2100+ (166X10.5) on default, so i bump the voltage up to 1.85 for 166X11 (1833) and it boots into windows fine, but when i go to run prime 95 all i get are error in the program, and it restarts the program after 5 minutes- but windows is stable, then it crashes in 3dmark 2001, what voltage does it take to get a xp agoia stable over 2100+ stats? should i increase my vdimm as well as the vcore when i go past 2100+, right now the vdimm is 2.6 volts.

what does it take to get 1833mhz-1.9ghz in terms of voltage, i have an epox 8k3a so i can go up to 2.2 volts
and i'm watercooled, please post your results

i noticed running at 1.85 volts only brought my idle temp up 2deg and my load temp (while it was still stable) up to 1deg

perhaps ur cpu just cant take that speed?

originally i was going to say it might be cooling but since u have water cooling and all..
perhaps try to chill that water (or use icewater ..) and see if that makes it stable for awhile.

good luck

My AGOIA-Y runs at 1743MHz with default voltage (1.75v). To hit 1800MHz I have to go all the way up to 1.91v. To hit 1860MHz I have to juice it at 2.02v.

Hmm. I'm building a similar system: 8K5A2+/1600XP AGOIA-Y week 13/Corsair PC3200/400w Antec PS. Should be interesting to see how high I can get it. I have no prob running things at 1.85 volts...2.0 seems quite high. :Q Don't want to blow the damn thing up!

I have a Thermalright AX-7 and use AS III. The fan on the HS is a quiet 30cfm/2000-rpm 80mm fan. Currently, my 1800XP@ default idles at 46C...I'm expecting the same from the new chip.

MichaelD hey brudda :) 2v on a XP isn't that bad really, I know a guy who's still running a 600Duron@1ghz+@ 2v for well over a year now ;) Also, is that 1800+ running in the Shuttle like it says in your sig? If so don't forget your new Epox will read right from the XP's on die thermal diode and the temp will be more accurate resulting in higher indicated temps. @1.88ghz@1.9v W/SLK-800&52cfm 80mm fan and case temp of 33c I get as high as 52c but that's really quite cool considering the max temp an XP can handle. BTW my 8K3A w/1600+AROIA @1.75ghz@1.775v w/GC-68&52cfm 80mm fan peaks@62c-63c and that's still well within the safe range and it's rock solid running SETI 24/7 for days on end ;) Anyways, didn't mean to ramble just trying to reassure you higher temp readings on your new setup will be fine :)

Thanks, Dapunisher for the reassurance. Yes, my XP1800 runs fine in my Shuttle. 46C idle 49C stressed. That AX-7 is great. ;). I am hoping to have the time to put the new system together this weekend. We'll see what happens.
