Ok, its me again, I am trying to get audio drivers for this board's onboard audio, and Intel's site does not have 98 1st. ed drivers, only 98 se and up. I did try the drivers for 98SE, no go. Any help would be appreciated!!!! I did check Analog Devices' website as well, no go.

nope. The guy shipped a bare mobo. I will PM him and ask. Anybody else able to confirm that this audio chip doesnt have 98 1st ed support?

Ok, I just went to MS's HCL, and they do have the D815EEA2 (same as D815EPEA2 except with video) listed as compliant with windows 98 (just says win 98, not first ediiton or anything just win 98). I have emailed Intel and Analog Devices regarding this issue. Anybody have any info?

I looked everyone on DriverGuide, and even on some OEM computer sites, and they all pretty much say that the AD1885 requires at least 98SE. So, unfortunately, you might be SOL, but I'll keep digging and see what I can find.

Edit: On Dell's site, they have Windows95 drivers.... Not sure if it'll work, but it can't hurt to try. Here is a link to the file... hope it works for you.

Thanks mrbios, mastertech🙂

To be honest, I think that even tho the OS would be 98SE after all the updates, wndows would still think it was 1st ed (ie it would think it is 4.10.1998 not 4.10.2222A like SE).

Well, I will give those 95's a try. To be honest, this does frusterate me. I don't even have a 98SE or Me that I could give them. All I've got is 95 Upgrade, 95 OSR2, 98 1st ed OEM, 98 1st ed Upgrade🙁

Maybe I'll try hacking the registry, etc to get these 98SE's to install. To be honest, it just doesn't make sense that the SE's drivers wouldn't work. They are WDM's which are supposed to work on 98 1st ed and up, and 2000 and up. Right now my problem is the setup says that this OS isnt supported.
