Can't see second hard drive

I recently built my first computer and included two new 160gb hard drives in it. While setting up windows it gave me the option which hard drive I wanted to install windows to. I couldn't tell which one was the master (I didn't recognize the numbers of either of them) so I picked the first one listed and installed windows to that. After the successful installation I went to my computer and saw only one hard drive it had installed windows to. I went to the device manager and saw both of them listed so I'm guessing it has something to do with the second hard drive never being formatted. Basically, I've got two questions:

1.) Does the fact that my computer boots up fine mean that XP was installed to the master drive? (I have the master come first in the boot order followed by my optical drive).

2.) How do I view the second hard drive?

Thanks in advance.

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management>Format

That should do it.

Thanks, that did the trick!

Any idea how to make sure which hard drive windows is installed on? (want to make sure it's the master)

That should be pretty easy to find. Look in the drives for a folder called WINDOWS. Whatever drive has that folder is the OS drive. It should be the :C drive.

I figured it out. Went into Disk Managment and looked at the them by their locations "0" or "1"; I got it installed right. 😀
