can't see drive letter after connect the IBM 120gig hard drive

Can someone help me with this problem..I am running winxp so do I need the new driver for this hard drive or there anyway to make the operation system to detech the hard drive and shpws the letter for the hard drive..thanks
 
I`m not sure if I understod you right, but I guess that your OS
doesnt recognize your hard drive ? Have you made any partitions ?
have you formated them ? If not, run "FDISK" and make some
partitions on the drive and format them.
