Can't see CPU temp anywhere with new 3500+ Venice. I tried nTune and Everest bith with no success but I can see my 7800GT's temp. In BIOS I can see the CPU temp its usually 50C-59C that is so damn hot. BIOS says the fan speed is around 2300RPM - 2500RPM. So what is going on can anyone explain thanks.

i dont get your rant. u see the cpu temp already. so what's the prob? yes its quite hot. did u add any thermal paste? what are your ambient temps? we need more details here.

Its not 59C-60C its 50C-59C. I have the new eVGA motherboard. The non-SLI verison. I am pretty sure the BIOS is up to date on it. My ambient temp is 22C-24C.

The problem is that the CPU is too hot my old AthlonXP that I had in this case yesterday had 40C-50C. But this A64 3500+ Venice is way hotter. I did not use thernal paste when installing the CPU the heatsink already had a thermal pad on it. Also I can only see my CPU temps on the BIOS and not anywhere else.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

You need to get the program MyGuard from Jetway (original maker of the eVGA mobo). Thats the only program that'll show eVGA temps.

didnt your board come with a cdrom with drivers & apps?

I suggest you look on that cd.

I have a similar issue.

First, your mobo is obviously seriously misreading the temps. I seriously doubt you are truly idling at 50 to 59 degrees C. It is probably more like 30 degrees C. I have the new AOpen nForce4 Ultra board and it similarly has no shipping temp monitoring utility except what can be seen in the BIOS.

I have a Venice 3800+, and my BIOS says my idle CPU temp is 60 degrees C. That is with a Thermaltake XP-90C/AS5/Panaflo M1A. At first I thought I misapplied the AS5 (not likely in my case, but possible..) Tried again. Same result. OK....

I then stuck on the stock cooler without the stock pad (using AS5 again, and I use the Articlean two steps system always) and the idle temp in BIOS was 64 degrees C.

Obviously the BIOS on this mobo is massively misreading the CPU temps. There is no way in hell it is running that hot. Just to be sure, I took the CPU out and put on a EPoX 9NPA+Ultra and with the XP-90C I got a idle temp of 32 degrees C.

I am bitching up a storm over at AOpen, and have lodged a complaint as well as a support issue over the grossly incorrect BIOS readings and the fact they have failed to provide a Windows based utility to view fan speeds and temps. Even Foxconn provides a relatively decent utility, but a top notch company like AOpen cannot? I made that point in my complaint, as well.

Yes the motherboard is indeed misreading the temperature. All of their nforce4 motherboards do it seems. A lot of people have pointed it out at the eVGA forums. At the moment, they have no fix for it to read the right temperature, but they said they'd release a fix soon.
