Cant save as or load .jpg in win2k??

I'm just using paint for the first time since I reformatted and installed Win2K pro, and I go to save a picture, and I can save only as .bmp, either 16 color, 256 color, 24 bit, and monochrome bitmaps?? 🙁

Thats it for file options under the "save as" dialog. Where the hell did the bunch of other file options go!?? 24bit bitmap sux0rs, its like 2.5 megs to save a freakin file for what I'm trying to save, and with the 256 color, I lose a bunch of color info and alot of stuff just becomes a blur, I just want my JPEG back! 🙁

TIA

jeff

Yeah, thats the thing, I could save to jpg before the format/reinstall of Win2k in paint, and I can in Win98 too..........???

You probably had Office installed before & that's why you could save as jpg, with a clean install you dont have that option.

Try installing Offfice & this option will return.
