I can't save any files, not from any mail I get, or from any newsgroups. Anyone have an idea what setting is out of whack that isn't allowing me to do this?

your security is set too high in OE. somewhere there is an option to prevent you from accessing attachments, and is enabled by default for some f'd up reason. uncheck it and you should be able to access attachments after that.

Whoa, can't believe I didn't notice that, Thanks!

Must be something new, because I've never had to do that before, and I re-install windows every 4-5 months!

What I usually do is to compact all the mails first, and then go to option -> Maintainence to find out which folders all ur mail store into. For example, my mail store into: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{469A9CC0-CDED-11D7-9CDE-83F202075F45}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

copy this location to address and press "Return" You should see a bunch of files that have the extension *.dbx.

Whatever they are, store to somewhere you want and simply import whenever you need them.

When I am typing this sentence.......I realize that I have misunderstood your question......you are asking how to save file that the sender sent to u right.......

I suppose I'm just too lazy to turn that feature off. I just hit "Forward" on the e-mail, and then drag & drop the file from the "Attatchments:" field.
