can't run scan disk or disk defrag on hard drive.

so i try to run disk defrag on my 4 month old hard drive and it says i have errors. so i run scan disk, and it keeps restarting. i'm assuming that this HD is about to bite the big one. is there anything i can do? i have all my important info on my second HD, so its not going to kill me if it up and fails, but i'd still like to keep it. other than this i have experienced no problems.
 
what brand is it?

go to the web site of whoever makes it and download the harddrive utility for diagnostic/repair


at least then you will know if the drive is actually bad or not 😀
