Can't restore Nero backups

I backed up a 19GB AVI video file using Nero 6.3, spanned over 5 DVDs.

When I tried to restore it, it turned out Nero thinks it's compressed, which as far as I know it isn't--and it has a different extension than Nero's backup program is looking for. When I use the Wizard, it tells me not to use the Wizard, but to double click on the file name in Windows Explorer and that will start the restore. But it doesn't. It brings me back to the Wizard, where I get the same message I got before.

I updated to 6.6, and the same thing happens. The backup is now the only copy of the AVI I'm trying to restore. Might it be corrupted? Or is there something I can do to get my file back?

If you put the last DVD disk of the set you burned in a DVD-ROM drive, you will find a file that ends with *.nbi extension. Double click on that file and Windows should start Nero Backup Restore were you pick what files in the backup you want to restore to your system.

If I remember by default Nero compresses it's backup unless you turn compression off.

If you used Nero Backup there should be a file with an nbi extension on that last disk.
