I can't seem to resize a window. (Using WinXP Pro) It will either minimize to the tray or maximize to the full screen, but nothing in between. When I try to restore it, it goes away to the tray. Tried searching at Microsoft, but wasn't very good at wording my question I guess. (Not that it might have helped.) Shutting down the program and restarting doesn't change anything. Anyone ever have this problem before?

Its the decison of the programer if their program's windows are resizable or not. If they coded to program to not have a dialog/window resizable then there is nothing you can do about it.....

Ahh, but it DOES resize, or at least it DID until about two days ago. Now what is the trick? Sorry, guess I should have mentioned that above.

What happens when you click on the middle of the three buttons up on top to your right? Does it minimize?

I've run into some programs in Windows XP, most noticeably IE, where it will resize, but the resized window is the same size as the maximized window. However, it does give me the option to adjust it from the bottom right hand corner of the window.

try what sephiroth says, sometimes it is not maximized - yet still is the same size - you can tell by looking at t he bottom right, drap your cursor over it, and if you get the tell-tale adjust cursor then you are set, otherwise -

I have run across this before, somehow, and I have no clue how as it was not my machine, but a window size became stuck in the exact same manner you described, I pecked away at the system registry (window position and settings are stored in there), and everything was kosher BUT the damn thing was still stuck. I never figured out why.

Have you tried right-clicking in the Taskbar, and choosing "Cascade Windows"?

This is exactly what happens.

Ahhh, I've had that happen, which is a mere inconvenience. This is outright annoying. I really don't know how it go this way either.
