Can't remember name of an old RTS game that went 3D FPS!

I remember an RTS series that went 3D in the 3 or 4 sequel. I can;t remember the freaking name but you basically played the older RTS games but from a 3d down on the ground perspective! Anyone remember? This about 8-10 years ago! The main character was a sorta duke-nukem' ripoff. I remember the RTS games being great but I forget the series. I wanna say C&C but am not sure.

I thought it was cool playing in FPS in a game I played in RTS.

I thought it was. C&C fanboys hated the fact that they went FPS but I remember getting a kick out of comming up close to those laser tower things that in the RTS C&C would zap you but playing right up and close to it was a cool.

It was pretty fun. I think I just played the demo of it (back when demos were three or four full levels + several MP levels) and it was pretty fun. I didn't have internet back then, so my MP experience was limited to four player LANs heh.

Yeah its C&C renegade - Its a crap game but since it had the C&C name some people played it. It was only really interesting to see the units close up - man I love classic C&C!
FYI - the original command and conquer is free to download last time I checked - win 95 edition too

One of the few games I've helped beta test. Got to beta test Diablo 2 as well. I was the hit of the LAN party when I wiped that Beta disc out and let everyone have 30 minutes with it.

Renegade was some of the most fun I've ever had in an FPS. When a team worked together it was amazing. Flame tank rush!

My favorite thing to do was be one of the stealth characters..get behind a line of mammoth tanks - wait for a guy to get out to repair his own tank, and then steal it and wreak havoc. Fun times.

You're probably talking about mission 4, which wasn't really that hard. A few of the later Nod limited force missions were much tougher, as were several of the Covert Operations missions.

Those are the one thing I missed in C&C3. There were several such missions but only one or two posed any challenge at all.
