Can't play X-Men DVD

Tried the latest version of PowerDVD, plus all the versions of WinDVD2000. Running W2K Pro. Can't get this to play whatsoever. First copy of it I tried only had a Video_TS directory on the disk. Sent it back, and rec'd another copy. This one has the Video_TS dir, and also a Jacket_P dir, with some .mp2 files in it. The DVD player is the Pioneer 10X slot load, and plays all my other DVD's just fine. In the audio properties of X-Men, however, everything is greyed out, as if something is missing. Don't DVD's have to have an Audio_TS directory as well? Am I missing something, or were both of these disks bad?

Have you tried updating your DVD firmware? I know the X-Men DVD has had troubles in older stand alone DVD players; my Apex had some issues with the director's cut version.

What's so special about the X-Men DVD that some can play it, and some can't? I'll update the firmware tonight, and see what happens.......

I can play X-Men just fine with PowerDVD 3.0 on a GTS.
Forgot to say I have a Pioneer DVD-115 16X dvd

Well, I've got PowerDVD 3.0 and Pioneer DVD-114 drive, but it won't play. Is there more than one version of xmen out there, or something? SD, could you take a screenshot of the root directory listing of that DVD and sent it to me? I don't think either one of the disks I have are correct, they are both missing the Audio_TS directory.....:(

I checked my DVD and there are only two folders on it: Jacket_P and Video_TS so your DVD is fine.

Make sure you have hardware acceleration unchecked in powerdvd, as it gave me some problems before.

Hardware accel is greyed out in my configuration, probably because I don't have a hardware decoder (like the creative or sigma designs ones). Still can't get it to work, and this is horribly aggravating........GRRRRRRRRR.......lolol

Any other ideas?

On my apex at home X-men takes bit to load up. Even with macrovision turned off.

I recently got the special edition MiB from the UK (region 2) and get the same problem. But after stopping an pausing it it restarts and load ok.

The "audio_ts" directory is NOT necessary. Most DVDs just put it there for compatability. There is nothing of use stored in there for compatability. The AUDIO_TS directory is for the DVD-Audio players, whenever they come out.
