Hello,
I've attempted to overclock my card via a few diff guides but nothing seems to work. The drivers crash too often. This is my card: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product...ard-gv-r797oc-3gd-gv-r797oc-3gd/10214787.aspx

- I have attempted to overclock it using CCC, however even increasing to 1125/1505 causes crashes. Playing around with increasing power control settings didn't work, tried 3% increments up to 15%.
- I attempted the same thing using MSI Afterburner however the same result... checked "unlock voltages" too.
- I've re-installed the drivers but the same issue prevailed. Using the newest beta ones people are saying great things about.

What's the solution here? Revert to old drivers? Is the problem that my voltages still locked? I haven't done anything manually to unlock them as the guides I read didn't mention such a step.

EDIT: Damn, reading they recently have started locking the card. And no mention of it with the card? I mean who buys a card with that cooling solution if they don't plan to OC? Gigabyte just lost a customer for life heh.

Lower clocks you got a bad chip. It happens.

Stock voltage on my 7970 is only 100% stable up to 1080mhz. Sometimes you win the chip lottery sometimes you don't.

Set power to +20%. That setting just stops throttling. It doesn't actually increase voltage. Leave memory at stock and just adjust core clocks to start with. Check card temps B4 doing anything to make sure you don't have issues with cooling. What are your temps idle and stressed?
