I'm using FF 1.53 on XP pro with YDSL Pro and my bandwidth is clocked at 2.12 Mbps.

I don't know why but 9 times out of 10 when i open a web pages i get "The connection has timed out The server at site.com is taking too long to respond" i hen have to click on it serveral time then it eventually opens it.

Is this a problem wtih the DSL line, the browser, my pc or a virus/trojan?

highly suggest running a Live! CD (knoppix or ubuntu). google.com it.
in knoppix use netcardconfig to configure internet access.

this (considering you don't have hardware detection problems, else try ubuntu) can quickly rule out if the source of the problem is something in your windows operating system.

if it's a problem with the DSL line... tech support time.
