PC was working fine and then email links wouldn't work nor links in IE that require a new window to open. I have checked the settings, and updated Windows XP and still can not figure out what the heck happened. Does anyone have a clue about what the problem could be? Please let me know I am dying here! 😕

HiJacked browser? I have run both spyware and virus scan....anything I can do to fix it if that is the problem?

1) assuming you have Windows2000 or WindowsXP, try the Microsoft AntiSpyware beta from Microsoft's site, it's pretty good

2) Open My Computer, click Tools > Folder Options, move to the File Types tab, and confirm that the filetype URL has an IE-page logo. If it lost its association, I can try to help you figure out what it's associated with, but I'd have to log out of my Restricted User account to do so.

Thanks mechBgon. I did download the antispyware beta and it works great. I don't think a hijacked browser was the problem. Still can't get links to work from email (Outlook Express) or open certain links while browsing. Not having good luck this week that is for sure. This is the other computer in the house and it is freaky too. 🙂 I will have to post another day about it.

It seems to be having a problem associated with opening new windows. I can open links that change in the same window..such as reading an article on MSN or something, just not ones that open new windows. I take online classes and this is playing havoc with my school time. Any more suggestions?
