Can't open fatcash or ebates link. Help!!

Well, like the title says.
Everytime I try to click on a link from ebates.com or fatwallet.com, the link just won't open.
If I use firefox, it will just open a new blank window.
If I use IE, a window saying that "S&D resident shows that this page is trying to download "fill in the blank". This is known threat. Do you want to allow the download? will appear.

What do I do now? I tried uninstalling spybot S&D but it's still doing that. I know a lot of you have spybot installed and don't have this problem.

Advice on what to do please. Thanks a lot!!!

Don't open it.
Spybot is installed on your computer to protect you. Most likely the link you are tying to reach point to some sorth of exploit.

Edit: Doh, ebates is a known spyware. You do NOT want to infect your PC with spyware. Case closed.

lol. I know that ebates is spyware. But I'm trying to get cashback on all the deals posted on this forums. Doesn't have to go through ebates. what about fatcash??
How do I get around that? I can always run adware + spybot + spy sweeper to remove the spywares that I get from whatever websites, right?

probably your HOSTS file

search for it (no extension...just HOSTS) open it, and delete the entries that are being blocked

probably in windows SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC

some 'referral' sites are considered spyware and are blocked by those preventative programs

How do you do this? When I try to open the HOSTS file, windows asks me what program I want to use to open it.
