cant load VCOMM??

i recently replaced my mobo, cpu and ram
my computer started up fine and then windows found my new hardware and asked for the drivers ( scsii card, nic, ata controller)
after the drivers were installed and i rebooted my machine i get a blck screen and it says "Cant Load VCOMM"

does anyone know what this means?

if i go into safe mode and remove the hardware from the device manager win98 boots up fine again as long as dont install the drivers and reboot
i just want to get it to work for a while so i can backup some of my files on cd and then i'll format🙁

seems it has something do do with my modem ports
i'll have to look into a workaround so i can get my system up

is vcomm.vxd actually installed in your system?
if its not, you can extract it from your windows cd using SFC! doing this will put the file in the windows system folder but you really want it in
windows\system\vmm32!

SFC= system file checker.
for win98/ME , start/run & type sfc & choose extract i file!
if you get any problems, post back & I'll tell you which cab zip file it's in! 🙂

cool, thanx
i'll have to find a way to get back to you though
my pc at home is the one that haywire and i'm not planning on comming back to work on the weekend 😉
