This is really weird. I've been trying to install World of Warcraft using the original, legal CDs but I keep getting CRC errors at random intervals. So I decided to install it on a different machine and just do a rapid install package of it, so that's what I did. It installed no problem on the other machine. To my suprise the rip was only about 300MB but it seems to be complete.
So I run it in VMware first, on my machine, and it STILL won't install, it just gets stuck at random files, basically the same way it did with the normal installer. Then the executable installer just stops responding. What's going on?! It can't be memory as I've tested it, and can't be the HDD since I'd be having more problems installing other stuff, and it's brand new.
Has anyone ever seen this before? The CRC thing with the installer seems to be a common problem, but I can't see why the rip is not working.
