Ok, here's a new one. Put several differnt boot disks in, It will boot, but when option #1 is selected, " Start computer w/CD rom support", the computer stops responding after loading the Cd Rom Atapi driver. If option #2 is selected, it will continue to load the start up files. What is wrong?? I'm thinking CD rom is shot.Any Help will be appreciated

Check your cabling. Sometimes a drive will only function if it is master or slave, primary or secondary, and sometimes there is no reason to this behavior. Before you decide that it is the drive, try different drive cables and putting the drive in a different IDE position (primary / secondary / master / slave).

I agree, definitely try changing the cables. I had a similar problem where my machine stopped on scanning PCI bus using mechanism 2. I couldnt figure it out, and ended up taking everything out of teh machine, and changing the cable son the cd rom. It works ok now. I think it ws just a bad cable. Kinda weird since it worked 10 minutes before.
