Everytime I try to install windows xp on my system it doesnt work. Sometimes it wont even pick up the hard drive. When it does I succesfully install it but then i get a blue screen when its loading! Anyone know whats causing this or how i can fix it?

my best suggestion off the top of my head would be to try installing with just the bare minimum hardware. i.e. just cpu, ram, mobo, 1 hard disk, 1 cd-rom, and a video card. pull everything else.

then , if install goes ok, add it all back in later

Is your HDD connected via a controller card or on board controller of any type?
If so, you should install the driver that came with the hardware since XP is obviously not picking it up.

Another suggestion would be to try an older vid card during install.
You can always install the "wiz-bang" vid card later..........
