I switched from an Abit BM6 to an Asus CUBX-L like a few months ago. I tried to reinstall win2k, but it didnt work the first time and i quit trying. Now i want to try again, and it fails.

I do a clean format of my whole drive (20gb IBM), except for the storage partitions (which has mp3s and such). I install win98 on a drive successfully, but fail to insstall win2k on a seperate partition. Using the windows based installer, it installs right in win98, reboots, win2k setup, and does a blue screen at initiating setup (step after it detects basic hardware), that happened like 5 times in a row.

I tried using smartdrive, but also failed at the same location. I briefly checked the Asus site for compatibility problems, and one was mentioned with win2k setup. I wanted to flash the BIOS, but it turned out that the downloaded Asus Bios was v1007 and my bios was already v1008.

Help is appreciated, thanks.

What is the error that is on the top of the blue screen? We would be able to help you alot more if you posted that info.

try installing then.....
