Windows setup

Setup is starting windows. at this point after loading the cd up it stops here. what can i do to fix it. thanks

You probably want an XP CD with SATA drivers slipstreamed in there. Either the one you have is bad. (You should at least be able to get to the "Press F6 to install third party SCSI drivers..." screen, or perhaps it needs the drivers slipstreamed.

Your motherboard should have come with SATA drivers. You need to put them on a floppy. Press F6 when prompted and follow the instructions. Be patient.

no im not overclocking yet. i am trying to install on an ide cable. i have a nother computer kinda old and it gives me the same thing. my current one is working for some strange reason.

Then it's not seeing the hard drive.

Maybe double check for drivers. They need to installed from a floppy disk after you press F6.

Are you sure the cable is good?

He may mean an LS-120 that hooks to the IDE but that you can configure to show up as A: or B:.
This works quite well, BTW. (However, I don't see the super-disk showing up in his component list.)
I think you and others are right, he just isn't loading the SATA drivers properly.
