can't install OS........

my win98 is messing up really bad, so I"m just gonna try to reinstall win2000 over it.

Problem is I don't know how.

I put the win2000 CD in the drive, and boot the pc. I set teh CD-drive to boot first, but I then get an error message telling me

to insert a boot disk, press enter to continue.

all I have is a win2000 CD, and nothing else. So that doens't work.

I try to get into win98, and then install win2000, but the problem is that once I get into win98, the blue screen will appear; everysingle time. EVERYSINGLE TIME, as soon as I get into win98, bluescreen will come up.

So how can I install win2000 safely??

do any cdroms work in that drive? if so, does that win2k disc work in any other machine? If you answered no to any of those questions, you may want to look at replacing one of the two.

you can either get the bootdisks for win2k off of bootdisk.com or if you have a pc that runs you can pop the win2kCD in there and from windows you can make the bootdisks(there are 4 of them) ...
