Cant install J2RE

I can't install Limewire because J2RE aborting. Here's the message:

The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed.

I am not in safe mode. How could i go around this?

Also, just found out i cant install Quicktime with iTunes. Same message appears. Help!!!
