I have a network, and 4 computers with a shared hp officejet R60 printer. They all worked before I replaced all 4 computer. Now, only the computer the printer is connected to prints correctly. The others print partial info, half pages, and sometimes junk text. I cant figure it out. I installed the printer on the other machines as well, then changed the port. This is win98se by the way.

If it matters, the lpt1 port is an ECP port, as well as the other computers. IS this the correct port to use, my bios has 3 different ones to choose from.

Any help would be appreciated.

I ran into this before. Supposedly you can't share an all-in-one printer, but we had a client doing it. When they bought a new system with XP on it, it wouldn't work with that one. Reading into it, it wasn't supposed to work sharing at all, even though they had been doing it. I checked the other machines, 2 win98 and 1 win95, and figured out that they had installed the HP software on all the machines, and then changed the port settings on the two that were trying to grab the shared printer, and directed it to the shared printer port on the machine that the printer was actually hooked up to. We tried to get XP to grab it like that but it wouldn't let us change the setting.

They are all win98, and my 4 computers before this all printed to it just fine, no problem. I installed the drivers both as a local printer, then changed ports, and as a network printer. nothing works. Any other ideas would be great.

thanks
