I am having trouble getting on to gmail most of the time. Sometimes I can log in to gmail, but I usualy cant read any emails. I also cant navigate ebay, hotmail and some other sites. Any idea why I cant get onto some sites?

In a command prompt window, try "ipconfig /flushdns", sans quotes. This will flush all of the domain names your system has resolved that are still in memory.

Although, I must admit, it does sound a bit like there is a URL/content filter in place at your office. Whether your boss told the IT guy to do it or not, I'd have a talk with your administrator and see what's up.

It happens to everyone on the network. One girl can get onto myspace but no one else can. She is using an aol browser to get there. I tried using the AOL browser but it still wouldnt work. Someone was saying that the one girl could get onto myspace because she wasnt set up on the workgroup for the printer or something. It's not a spyware issue and sometimes clearing cookies helps on some sites. But gmail is a pain at best to read email. I can get to the main eBay page but then it locks up if I try to search or log in.

Is everything else slow? Maybe your tech guy is running torrents and taking all the bandwidth :)

Do a speedtest and post your results. Maybe someone at the company is hogging all the bandwidth or killing your router with too many connections like Payton suggested.

Also, try going to a command prompt and pinging www.gmail.com
Does it resolve to an IP address?
Does it get a reply back? Does it time out?

try doing a tracert to www.gmail.com too

This really sounds like something your IT guy should be handling though
