After not having any success with a recovery program (read here), I have to resort to OCR to get my school typed stuff back. I got TypeReader demo except I can't get it to work. I did this: Loaded up Photoshop, scanned in what I wanted to get "OCR'd", saved that as .jpg max quality, loaded it up in TextReader and then went to recognize. The information says 0 characters so the whole thing is blank. It's like it didn't even go through and recognize it but it says it did. It also says no illegible or illegal characters so it should be able to read it.
Tried the whole process many times and can't get it to work. The only weird thing I found is that in TypeReader, the image I had scanned and saved is VERY SMALL, I mean like a cm high and a inch long. Not sure why because the .jpg itself is about 800 pixels wide and 200 tall. But either way no characters show up after recognizing, it's just blank.
