You'll have to initialize the SSD and create a partition before you can use it.
Assuming you're running Windows. Goto the control panel/system tools/system management/Disk management.
You should see a popup appear, then do the following.
Select partition type as MBR, then follow the prompts, and select the format type as NTFS with the quick format option. If required, select the drive letter for the SSD.
Look at your BIOS. Make sure AHCI is set in BIOS.

Yep you have to mount the drive first before you can use it.
Good. Then I would try using a different cable/power cable. Just make a mental note of how things were hooked up before removing them. Reboot, go back to Storage, Disk Management and see if it's there. Edit: How many drives do you have hooked up?
I think he meant mounting as initializing, not physically attaching it.

I'm doing this f10 and diskpart and list disk trick after emergency restoring it. Think this would work?
