I updated my MB bios last nite from 0309 to 0509, and everything seemed to go well. It remembered all of my settings. I tried a mild OC on the CPU, which I have done on occasion. As sometime happens, nothing on the screen, np, i'll just rejump the bios like I have done before, press delete and go change the settings back.
However this time, I get an error on post that says "CMOS settings wrong. OC has failed. Please enter setup to reconfigure your system. System will shut down itn 15 seconds." So I press DEL, but nothing happens and the system shuts down
At the post it has reset the cpu back to the stock 2.13GHz, It recognizes the memory, it says it recognizes the CD, but it wont allow me to boot from the Asus CD.
I am able to get to the flash utility by pressing alt +F2, and once here I can flash the 0509 again with floppy, (it doesn;t recognize the CD at all here), but the system still wont let me into setup. Thinking the 0509 may be corrupt, I try flashing with the old 0309 bios, but I get an error message that says I am trying to update using an older version.
I tried again removing the power supply, taking out the CMOS battery, jumping pins 2-3, then back to pins 1-2.
Another thing I want to add is that since I've had this MB, the CPR function has never worked.
