Can't Get Enough Out of Mic on Gigabyte P35 DS3R

Guys,

For some reason, the same mic that worked well on a previous motherboard seems to struggle to capture my voice. I've updated to Realtek's latest driver (A401), run the calibration using Gigabyte's Audio Software and unless I'm on top of the mic, it doesn't capture it. I've turned the volume all the way up on the "Pink" input which is where the mic is plugged in. Can anyone offer some advice?

thx

Did you click mic boost in the audio section in control panel? Also, do you have another mic (on a web cam) that might be interferring or you are actually selected to?

just a guess.

there is no mic boost anywhere..i've turned up the volume in all the mic panels i've found..i have no other mic.

As far as I can tell everything looks fine. Other options include:

1) Bad mic?
2) Not plugged in all the way? loose connection.
3) Reinstall Sound Drivers

What are you using to test the mic? Just control panel test feature? What are you using the mic for? Maybe install Skype and make a call and see if you get a different result. Skype has nice mic testing features that might give you a clue.
