Can't get bluetooth working

I purchased my laptop about 3 years ago, and from what I can remember I got it equipped with everything I could (wireless, extra RAM, fingerprint reader, etc). I thought for sure I had added bluetooth, but I don't have any records to know for sure. There is a bluetooth logo on my computer next to the wireless logo, and it is not lit up like it should be if it were turned on. I've never actually used the bluetooth before, but now I bought a mouse and I can't figure out how to install it. I downloaded the drivers from Lenovo's website but there is still no bluetooth in control panel or device manager. There is also no unknown devices in device manager, so I'm not sure what else to try.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Since the Device manager doesn't show anything about Bluetooth then you either don't have it or its not working. Likly you don't have it. Have you searched online for your laptop model to see if Bluetooth was an option or not? But the mouse should have come with its own Bluetooth receiver that would plug into a USB port. So use that and the drivers that came with it.

The mouse I got connects through bluetooth and did not come with its own receiver. I am sure that bluetooth was an option for my computer because 1) there is a bluetooth logo that can light up (I haven't seen it light up) next to the wireless icon, and 2) there are bluetooth drivers for my laptop on Lenovo's website.

I remember having this problem with my laptop for work and it's bluetooth. It is Lenovo's crazy software. This was almost 2 years ago, so I don't remember exactly how I fixed it. I had to futz with their horrible software to get it to work.
