Can't get any sound in analog audio

My HTPC has an old nForce2 motherboard with Soundstorm. If I use digital via optical (STB) or coax (PC), I get sound just fine.

However when playing streaming videos, obviously I only get sound thru the front speakers. I decided to wire my speakers up with analog to see if I could get sound through all my speakers (Logitech Z-5500s).

I connected the analog cables to the control pod, then to the PC. I connected the colors like this:

(cables - PC)
Green - Green
Black - Blue
Orange - Pink

I also checked the boxes saying Line-In is Center and Mic is Rear, or however it's worded in Volume Control -> Advanced.

When I run the NvMixer utility and do the speaker test, I hear the white noise when it tests digital, but not when it tests analog.

Any ideas? I'm using Soundstorm driver 4.62 (latest I can find on nvidia.com), the motherboard is an MSI K7N2G-ILSR with the latest BIOS, and the OS is WinXP MCE 2005 SP3.

UPDATE:
Problem fixed!

I saw that there was a CMI audio applet in Control Panel and realized some C-Media drivers had gotten installed somehow at some point. I uninstalled the C-Media entry from Add or Remove Programs and rebooted.

After reboot, I went into NvMixer and changed from DDL to 5.1 (non-DDL). Presto, I can do ProLogic II, Stereo X2 et al over coax. Streaming video now plays through all speakers.

Change the sound "pod" to 5CH Stereo or Party mode or something similar to get sound out all the speakers equally. PLII will do this but it won't be as loud in the rear speakers. These will be in your manual where it explains listening modes.

For the analog inputs you have to change the input on the control "pod" did you?

I did flip through Stereo, StereoX2, Dolby ProLogic Music, DPL Movie, and 6 Ch. direct but none of them make a sound. I'm going to try my laptop now to see if the pod's analog is broken somehow.

Did you turn it to Stereo x 2 on the digital input? That should give you the all-speaker effect you are looking for.

Turn off dolby digital live and set the output sample rate to 44.1KHz. Then change the effect to 2x stereo.

I'll try this at home, thanks.

EDIT: That being said, that fact that I can get sound via analog from my laptop, but none whatsoever from my HTPC (over analog) seems to point to a driver issue unless I'm mistaken.

It will work via digital. Connecting via analog will simply transfer the job of applying the 2x stereo affect to the audio drivers. I'd personally rather have one connection rather than two simply because you want 2x stereo music.

In regards to your analog output. It is probably just a setting issue in the HTPC drivers. However, my opinion is if we can get it working via digital then theirs no need to sort out this setting issue.

I can't seem to do this on the control pod. When I hit Settings, I can only play with Night Mode and Surround Delay. I've got digital coax plugged in.

Dolby digital live is turned off in the motherboard sound drivers control panel, not the control pod.
