i have a 4gb pen drive and tried too many times but cant format it it says quit any disk utilities that are using it and there is no virus in it
There might be a disk utility or your antivirus program trying to access your USB drive. Either disable these applications completely before formatting or run the disk formatting in Windows Safe Mode. Other alternative might be to format with diskpart.
If all else fails see : http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windowslinux i have win7
Just restart, press F8 repeatedly and it should boot into Safe Mode. I recommended Safe Mode as it isolates any other program that might interfere. Try the diskpart method first.i did not have antivirus installed when i tried to format it how to do in safe mode?
I have a 256MB Kingston thumb drive that still works to this day. :awe:Pen drive = Thumb drive = flash media (USB). They do wear out. A 4GB drive is fairly long in the tooth. It just may have died of old age.
