wasn't sure if this was the proper forum or if it should have went into the technical forum...anyway i just finished getting my new computer up and running.. i have a gigabyte p965 ds3 rev 3.3 motherboard.. well i have a 2.1 speaker setup..boston acoustic and they're digital..in my old computer i used to have a soundblaster audigy 2 and i had no problem plugging them into that.. but now since im using the onboard audio i guess i have to plug it into the s/pdif plug the thing is only the tip goes in..sound comes out of the speakers but the cord is about fall out of the s/pdif jack..it's like it's too fat or something..so i'm confused it used to plug perfectly into my sba2 but won't fit into the motherboard...wondering if i need to get a special adapter to make it fit now or something? thanks =]

So your speakers have a 3.5mm connection (mono or stereo?) and you're plugging into an RCA-style digital output on the motherboard?

An adapter that goes from RCA to 3.5mm sounds like what you need, but I'm unsure if your speakers have a mono or stereo connection on them or if that would matter for the adapter type.

A stereo 3.5mm to dual RCA adapter worked for me going from digital output of a soundcard (TBSC) to a digital input on a receiver but I'm not sure if you need to specify mono or stereo for your application.
