What the heck? I figured I would use my G15 at work and buy myself a new G11 to use it at home. Looked it up, checked it twice, the keyboard layout of the G11 looked IDENTICAL to that of the G15. Today I bought the G11, opened it at home and it has a freaking L shaped enter key. Even the box shows otherwise. Otherwise it looks just like my G15, minus the LCD, obviously. So what the heck? Anyone ever saw any G11/G15 with an L-shaped enter? What's going on here? Aside from the fact that I feel scammed?

Maybe a counterfeit... ;) Top brand kbds might be worth the bother to clone for profit - anything else seem hinky or lower quality than is expected from Logi. Where did you buy it? Hate to think one of the OTK (one true keyboard layout) stalwarts has seen fit to cater to the poor typists...

Kyanzes,

I just receive a G11 keyboard I ordered a few days ago and it has a rectangular return key, as it shows on the box.

I called Logitech today and they said there is no Large-L enter key version of the G11, so it must be a counterfeit - easier to dupe the packaging than the unit itself I guess...

So another chinese or taiwan fake ... Give Logitech a call .. I am sure they want to
know Where you bought it from. That is the first step in them helping to put counterfeiters
out of business. And they may make good on it, especially if you can prove you bought
it in good faith from what was supposed to be a reputable dealer. Or did you perhaps
pay way under the retail listed at most stores ? ?

For ex: Tiger Direct has it for: $59.99 and they are a respected, legit seller

http://www.tigerdirect.com/app...R&CMP=OTC-PRICEGRABBER

I see Zepper already put a post about it on the logitech forums .. no replies as yet

Tiger Direct - "respected, legit seller" ... Weren't they one of the ones that sold a lot of those cheap mobos with the fake cache chips on them back in the day?

I can not say. But I thought they were well respected by people here
along with Newegg. Perhaps I am wrong.

Maybe so, but they are also the ones that foisted off the original Ultra X-connect PSU onto an unsuspecting public, so I don't consider them a "respected" seller. It's your nickel, so you can choose...

i'm not so sure it's counterfeit. i have an MX3000 and it does have the L shaped enter key. i've looked on google and i belive it may simply be different regional layouts. i saw pics of the g11 with an L shaped enter key. you could probably verify with your serial number though. i could be wrong.

Well, maybe yours is counterfeit or "gray market" too. The version for the US market has the horizontal bar Enter key...

Gray market means an item is sold in a market other than the one intended - Euro versions (or those for some other region) may have the Large L, but all intended for the US market are basically the OTK layout (horizontal bar Enter key w/ a fairly large \ / | key above it). So warranty coverage might be limited to nonexistent.

I would still check the Ser.Nos with Logi to see if they are legit.
