I just love the weakling mentality of some of the posters here....Sue them, take them to court, ow! Wtf good does that do the guy who is dead? So his relatives might score enough cash for a new ride or a kitchen remodel over his death? You make me want to puke.

Here's a valuable tip for wannabe heroes: If you can't take a punch, don't get into a fucking fight. Or if, in a situation like this, and you want to intervene. Take your scarf (you know you have one momma's boy), put the glass sugar dispenser, or both of the salt & pepper containers from the counter in it, then confront them and start cracking heads, until they get tired of it or they cannot stand bleeding any longer.

Anyone who's solution to a relative being killed is solely civil litigation, is an ineffectual nothing. I see there a few of them here.

If someone hurt a member of my family. I'd be the first one in line to pay his bail....

Let me get this straight, you're actually defending the actions of the worthless piece of shit who did this?

Wow, just wow...

I think hes saying that those who seek means of punishment that happen to be legal and do not include violence are pansies. Although I need help differentiating between a wannabe hero and someone trying to do the right thing.

An unexpected punch can do way more damage than some people realize. I remember quite a few years ago in high school, a kid threw a punch (who happens to be in the NFL now) and knocked another kid over I believe ended up falling over and getting a brain hemorrhage.

Yeah, that's how I read it as well. He's also advocating that in this situation if you make the call to intervene in a situation where you are outnumbered you should be prepared (i.e. the suggestion to make-shift a weapon beforehand).

Yeah, I guess you're right. It's been a long day today. Can't say I care much for the style of his post though.

Still, you can't fault the guy in the story for saying something to those fools. You don't expect to get killed for trying to help someone. What else is there to do at this point but throw the book at him anyway?

Agreed.
There's way too many people that just throws punches around onto the face so non-chalantly. The reality of the matter is that it's not like movies where you can just get repeatedly punched on the face with nothing happening.
The reality is, one clean punch, and you're pretty much knocked out cold.
