Hello,
Hoping that someone on here can help.
I updated my motherboard BIOS recently from Award F2 (first time in the many years I've had the machine) after putting in some new hardware. Since then I have not been able to access the BIOS settings. Windows boots fine. I can access QFlash and the BOOT sequence menu but not settings or XPress Recovery. I need to get into the BIOS for a few reasons.
I press DEL repeatedly at the splash screen all I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor top left in a situation almost identical to this very old post here:

"Some of the replies indicate that some folks don't understand the problem. So to rehash: If I don't press delete during the splash screen, then the computer boots into Windows normally. If I do press delete, it ***TRIES*** to enter the BIOS, but hangs at a blank screen with a blinking cursor instead. I have:
1. Checked the memory with Memtest-no errors
2. Checked general system stability with 8 hours of Prime-no errors
3. Cleared the CMOS multiple times
4. Reflashed the BIOS multiple times
5. Checked the CMOS battery voltage-within spec
6. Removed all PCI, SATA, and IDE devices-no differences
7. Used only one stick of RAM, in different slots
8. Set the 'Safe Boot' jumper-no difference"
I tried about all of these things prior to finding the above post. I have replaced the CMOS battery with a new one. Tried 4 different BIOS inc F4, F7, F8, F9b from the Gigabyte website. Nothing seems to be working. Any one have any idea what the problem might be and how to fix it.
Again... Windows boots fine. I can access other things from the splash screen. Pressing DEL takes me to a black screen with a flashing cursor top left and hangs. I have cleared the CMOS, replaced the battery, reflashed the bios many times with four different versions, tried it with all peripherals and components disconnected other than the bare essentials. I cannot get into the settings. Gigabyte support has been sketchy and not told me anything I don't know or haven't tried which is why I'm here asking, and would be amazingly grateful to anyone that can help.
Cheers.
