cant dual boot

ok this has got me absolutely baffled.

first off no matter what my first os is, is cant load a second os on a second partition.

look at my sig for hardware specs.

get the first one all loaded up,, then lets say i throw in the Windows 64 beta, it goes thru the paces of the boot screen when booting to the cd.

i give it the SATA drivers, or even if i dont. It loads all the drivers into the ram drive then when it says "Starting Windows" the screen just goes black. and thats all. its not locked cuz if i hit enter a few times the cd and floppy do a little spinning but then thats all i try to hit F3 a few times like i am exiting and i wait but nothing happens.

has anyone seen this before. cuz i never have. i used to dual boot 98 and 2k then 2k and XP and never had any issues.

now with my current hardware config i cant load a thing after the first os. not even another copy of 2k.

ive never seen it just go to a blank screen and sit there. its like it cant initialise the video but the video is already initialised.
its wierd and very frustrating, cuz i would really like to dually up with windows 64.

I can only think of one thing that might be causing problems

if you don't have a single hard drive

I've run into problems before with trying to dual boot with only arrays and no single drive
I''ve even had problems with an array and a single drive where I had to disable the array to get it to install.
