Anyone have this problem.
Lately it seems to be getting more frequent.

don't know if it is something my computer is blocking, but doesnt seem likely.

When I try to dnload an attached email file, hotmail will go to the login screen instead of downloading the file.

What's up with this?

Is IE6.0 to blame or is it Hotmail? Or is it my system?

Checked all IE settings and don't see a problem with that.

I have this problem every once in awhile, just so you know - you're not alone. But, it's not my primary email addy, so I don't worry about it.
I'm gonna say that it's coming from Hotmail, but maybe when I dual-boot WinXP and Win2K, I'll see if it happens in Win2K as well.

If you want a way to get around this, maybe you could use MSN Explorer or Outlook Express, but I just dumped it altogether to use my Pacbell POP3 email account.

That's a good idea to try it with other browsers. I'll try that after finals are through...

Thanks for the tips.

Deleting the cookies did not help.

Using Netscape and OUtlook did work. Even setting up receiving my inbox thru hotmail via OUTLOOK let me open the attachment and save it. (it was an excell spreadsheet only 12kb).

Went to W2k with IE5.5 and had the same problem.

I am wondering if ZoneAlarm is not the problem. I have to disable ZA on the server in order to get to the net. I can use ZA on any client without any apparent problem. Disabling ZA to download this file on the client did not help. But perhaps only disabling ZA is not enough.

I am going to build another system and try without loading anything but the o/s to see if I can download these attachments.
Will post when that is done.

Thanks for the tips.
