Can't do this consumer thing anymore

I like the buy toys and stuff, but generally I buy stuff to plan to keep it for a long time. I don't understand this thing where people absolutely have to upgrade their PC or phone every few years.

I do sometimes tend to go overboard though when I do get into a spending frenzy. Amazon is dangerous for that. "ooo shiny" *add to cart*
