I'm trying to move my old Shareaza downloads from my old computer to my new computer. I burned them to a CD, and popped the CD into my new computer. However, when I try to cut the files from the CD and move them to the Shareaza Downloads folder, it says that access is denied and that the files are read only. How can I move these files, or must I download all of them over again?

I also selected all of the files, went to properties, and attempted to uncheck the Read-Only, but no go.

EDIT: By the way, I burned the CD as a data CD, since it was a mix between music and video. Could that be the problem?

Data CD should not be a problem. But you can't cut files from a CD-ROM because it's not re-writable. That's also the reason you can't change them from read-only. Copy them to the new computer, then you can change the read-only property for the files on the hard drive.

Although it shouldn't be necessary to change them from read-only once they are on your PC unless of course you need to edit them and save under the same name.
