Question can't control LED on corsair vengeance white LED DRAM

i recently reconfigured an old system in a new case. generally super happy with the results, but the new case has a side panel window, and it's driving me bonkers that each of my 4 DIMMs is pulsing white slightly out of sync with each other.

i installed the corsair iCUE software and it didn't seem to recognize them correctly. uninstalled that and installed corsair link and they are recognized, their color state appears to be shown (even pulsing in the app) but changes have no effect.

in the app it looks like this now, all solid white,



none of the controls have any effect, grouped or not, etc.

thanks in advance for any tips on this! what an annoying feature......

iCue pretty much does the same thing; for troubleshooting i removed them all including NZXT CAM and the behavior is the same.



mobo is an asus x99 extreme ii.

Have you tried AuraSync?

IME to control RAM use the mobo software.

thanks - just checked it out - i don't get any options in aura to control memory lights. the only item is motherboard which does control the small amount of lighting on the motherboard, but nothing else.

solved. SPD write disabled in ASUS X99 bios by default. they ought to make a note of this somewhere!
