I have a Buffalo router with tomato firmware on it. I reinstalled my OS, XP SP3, a few weeks ago. In the morning I start up my battery backup so the cable modem and my router can power up. After I minute I turn my my PC. I can not connect to the internet at this point. It was working last night. Or get into my router page. What do I need to do?
Do I have to change something in XP under network connections? In the tomato settings? Also I use opendns. I'm frustrated.

Thanks

You need to give a lot more information than just it's not working, what do I do? Does your computer get an IP address, can you ping the gateway, can you access the router homepage, etc?

My first post I was able to connect via the router after turning on my modem, waiting a few minutes, pressed the reboot button on the router for 30 seconds, then plugged it into the battery backup with the router. Let them talk to each other for a few minutes, then turned on my PC. Things were fine. Shutdown everything. Start up my battery backup and let the modem and router talk for a minute. Turn on the PC, can't connect to the internet with FF. I could get to my router's homepage. I couldn't ping google.com. Ipconfig /all show:

When using a router and opendns, do I have to change something in network connections? I have obtain IP auto. Right now I'm bypassing the router. I didn't have any problems early this year, but back in May I cancelled the internet. Installed a new HD and all my programs about 2 weeks ago and it's been hell the last week. Once I get connected via the router, it's fine as long as I don't turn off my PC. It's after I turn it off for the night/time being that it doesn't seem to connect at boot up. Windows doesn't even tell me that I may have limited connection. I have that box checked.

Thanks
