Can't connect to AudioGalaxy

I just installed their sowftware - I can open their website, and search music, but the satellite will not connect to their servers. It just times out. I tried the alternate AGStream software too - and it won't connect either. Nor can I telnet their server (telnet garlic.audiogalaxy.com 21). I turned off ZoneAlarm just in case it was the problem, rebooted after each install, etc. I even upgraded to the Gold account.

Anyone else having this problem, or just me?

So it's just me then 🙂 This is strange. I've shut down ZoneAlarm, so no firewall problem. I'm sitting on a direct connect DSL line, I can't imagine that's a problem. Weird.

CTWEAK...sometimes although you close the zone alarm program , it runs in the background.youd better check that out by using the task manager, if you see it running use the end task button to close it. i think it should work.

I cannot find minilog or vsmon running (ZoneAlarm's TrueVector services) in Win2K's task manager - I've tried added a public socks proxy server to the Satellite setup, that's no help. AG's BBS has TONS of people complaining about not being able to connect - and little to no help coming from anyone there. I'm beginning to think that perhaps Bellsouth (my DSL ISP) is perhaps blocking the ports AG uses. If so I'm screwed - and just lost the $15 6-month 'gold' membership fee. Not to mention there is no way to contact AG regarding this - I think it's time to move on to something else (Kazza, etc). Sigh, too bad, I used AG a few months ago (same DSL and ISP too!) but on Win98. I'm NOT going to reinstall Win98 just to use AG!
