Cant connect my Droid phone to my Win7 laptop via bluetooth

Original Droid phone (2009).

the code shows the same on both my droid and laptop.
so I press 'pair' on both my droid and laptop.

droid says paired by not connected.
laptop sees the droid.

all I want to do is xfer files from phone to laptop.

You're trying to transfer files via bluetooth.

Plug the phone in with a cable, or get any file explorer that supports ftp, or use Airdroid. Why bluetooth? It's so slow.
