Can't choose a resolution higher then 1024x768 in BF2

Hey guys,

I have a 7800GTX, Athlon 64 3000+ Venice, and a Apple 30" LCD (at 2560x1600) with BF:2 installed. However, the maximum resolution I can set in the game is just 1024x768! If I set it manually using the config file, it just resorts back to 1024x768...

Even if I set my monitor to 1600x1200 manually, it still does not show up in the game. Reformatting has done nothing, and all latest drivers/patches are installed.

Any ideas?

Damn, well that sucks. Still, 1024x768 looks great, and I get great frame rates, so I suppose its alright.

Oh, and the monitor, you have NO IDEA what its like to game at 2560x1600 :D. Far Cry is sheer beauty.

Damn a 7800GTX can handle that resolution with everything maxed? :( my poor x800xl.

You know, I was suprised too. Everything is on Max and I have 2x AA going, and at 2560x1600 it's as smooth as butter.

Whats your average fps in it? Check with renderer.drawfps 1 in console for me :) I consider 40+ smooth btw :p

Don't think thats a command for Far Cry (isn't that for BF:2), but I will have to install FRAPS sometime this week to see how my FPS is there exactly. But, in BF:2, at 1024x768 with 4x AA and everything on High, I get between 50-70 FPS.

Don't edit the config file that does nothing.

Instead right click on the BF2 icon go to proporties and change the target to
"X:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 2560 +szy 1600

You can change it to whatever res you want really... but

My target looks like this for a 2405FPW it runs in wide screen mode just fine.
"D:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

In the menu it will still say whever resolution was last set, but in game in will have changed.

I've tried that as well, and the program opens, and then closes right away.
